Another long day in the car driving to Emporia. Not a lot to see through northern Oaklahoma and into Kansas. Dry in some places, some wells (drilling), "sheeps", long horned cattle, 'flat' racoons, 'flat' armadillos - all very difficult to photograph when you're whizzing along the interstate at 75mph in some places....But I do have two photos of interest: David at the Mexican restaurant last night with the fajitas meal, the meat was brought out sizzling on this small cast iron camping oven, which had holes in the sides of it and a burner in the base. Carlos (our waiter) poured a liquid on the meat as he brought it out and the flames went 1 metre into the air! And I missed it because I wasn't expecting to see it! Then he asked if we wanted a squeeze of lime juice over the meat - we said yes - it was the most brilliant taste ever!
Tonight we ventured over to 'Montana Mike's Steak House' for dinner - Dave asked for a 'big beer' and I asked for the $2.99 Margarita special.... check out what came out! Dave's beer is a 22oz and my margarita is in a mug! Cripes!
