This afternoon we arrived in Milwaukee. An almost 5 hour drive from Iowa City due to our preference to avoid toll roads. We were on the 151 / Highway 1, a very scenic drive through farm land across Iowa.
We followed Jeremy and Mary's advice to try the 'Rock Bottom Brewery' for dinner. It's located alongside the river (it's narrow about 50m wide) so we had a lovely view of boat traffic with people enjoying sunset cruises. Our table had a great view of the Wells St Bridge which lifts up to allow taller vessels to pass underneath.
As we were leaving, we noticed this HUGE (Great Dane) dog sitting with his master and of course, we stopped to admire him (like lots of other people). His name was Sanchez and he liked me! He was almost pushing me over when I was trying to pat him. We had a little chat with his owner, partly in spanish. It turns out that Sanchez had been to a dog show today!
